So what does this new 3.0 version bring to the table?
This release includes a new easy to use drag and drop layout editor, QR codes, “pop art” filter and support for the new Canon EOS Rebel T5/1200D. The exciting new features in DSLR Remote Pro for Windows v3.0 are described in more detail below.
Simple but powerful print layout editor
The new print layout editor provides a simple way to quickly edit photo booth print layouts. Simply use the mouse to move, resize and rotate photos and captions directly in the print preview display. Alternatively keyboard shortcuts can be used for precise control. The editor comes complete with undo/redo, the importing of background and overlay images, editing of photo and caption positions, sizes and rotation, QR codes and the importing and exporting of complete print layouts for easy archiving and sharing.

Easy access to the main photobooth settings using photobooth shortcut buttons
The optional photobooth shortcut display adds buttons for quick access to the main photobooth functions from the main window.

A QR code can now be added to the print layout allowing people to scan the photo with their cell phones and jump to the website of your choice.
Display thumbnails of the photos taken so far
Display a small thumbnail of the photos taken so far beside the live view display. The thumbnails can be displayed horizontally across the screen or vertically down the screen as shown in the screenshot above.

The number of photobooth profiles has been increased from 8 to 18 for more flexible configurations e.g. making it easier to offer the choice of more backgrounds when shooting green screen photos.
Increased the number of photobooth captions from 2 to 8 for more flexibility in print layouts.
The print layout templates on this page are all for 300 DPI printers setup for 6 inch x 4 inch prints. They are suitable for all 300 DPI dyesub printers used for photo booths e.g. DNP DS-RX1, DNP DS40, HiTi P510 series, Mitsubishi CP-D70DW, Mitsubishi CP-K60DW-S, Mitsubishi CP-D707DW or any other 6×4 printer which prints at 300 DPI.
Please note that all customers using DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 3.0 and future releases will need activate their license on each PC whether this is a free or paid for upgrade. Each licence can only be activated on two PCs at at time in accordance with the End User Licence Agreement. Only one of these copies of the program can be used at any time. First make sure your printer is loaded with 6 inch by 4 inch media and is set to 300 DPI. You can do this by running the photo booth software and clicking on the “Printer Setup” button. Next, click on the download link for the template you wish to use and open the ZIP file in Windows File Explorer after it has downloaded. Then use one of the following methods to load the template:
- Manually copy the template file to your templates folder using Windows File Explorer. Then run the photo booth software, open the print layout editor and click on the “Import layout…” button to display the photobooth print template window and you should see a thumbnail for the new template. Double click on the thumbnail to load the template.
- Run the photo booth software and open the print layout editor. Then drag and drop the template file from the Windows File Explorer window to the print layout window and this will load the template files into the print layout editor. Please note that will only copy the print layout, background.jpg and overlay.png files. It won’t make a copy of the new template file. Click on the “Export layout…” and enter a filename if you wish to save the template file.
- Run the photo booth software, open the print layout editor and click on the “Import layout…” button to display the photobooth print template window. Then drag and drop the template file from the Windows File Explorer window to the print template window and this will copy the template file to your templates folder. The thumbnail of newly copied template will be highlighted in the print template window and can be loaded into the print layout editor by double clicking on the thumbnail.
